Circuit Integrity wire is special wiring used for fire alarm notification appliance circuits. It is required by NFPA 72 the National Fire Alarm Code in installations where you must meet the 2 hour protection requirement for the wiring used on notification circuits such as horn/strobe and strobe only circuits. This wire is specially designed to meet this requirement by forming a glass layer on the wire when exposed to fire. This wire is generally required when you install a fire alarm system in a non-sprinkler protected building. This wire is manufactured by Belden part number 5220UM. It is 16 gauge solid copper 1000 foot spool and has the following markings "New Generation Safe-T-link by Belden 5220UM or HC2851U UL2196 Circuit Integrity Cable - E64959 (UL) FPLR-CI (Max Voltage 41) 105C 2C16AWG". Meets article 760 NEC for fire alarm wiring.
