The C-5 grade (AN-6) is a tough grade suitable for use uncoated or coated with a hardness of 91.3 Ra, very high TiC and TaC for cutting steel, and medium to high fracture toughness and medium abrasion resistance. AN-6 is designed for general purpose metal removal operations such as turning, boring, threading, grooving, and milling. It performs best at medium cutting speeds and feed rates on medium interrupted cuts on a wide variety of carbon and alloy steels.
