I am guessing this system cost around $20,000 new. Most of the parts are from June 2004, so this system would be less than four years old. This system was used in a sortation system to scan DVD and CD-ROM barcodes, but I am sure it can be configured to read different products. The unit basically takes a picture of the package traveling under it, and it can read the image to obtain the barcode from the picture. This unit looks to be an AV4000 Version 1.0, not an AV4000 Version 2.0 July 2004 SN 04023443. I can't see what CPU is inside the unit, but I can tell it has a Intel 815 chipset which makes me guess it is a pentium 3, celeron, or similar processor. The system has 512mb of ram, a hard drive, and a floppy drive. July 2004 SN 04023016. This camera is an Accusort AV4000 camera that comes with a Nikon 50mm F1.4 lens. Accuvision AVI-L 2 foot high intensity Coplanar Illumination Module All serial and communication cables are included. Photocraft Encoder or Tachometer The company who used this camera system was forced to shut down their operations and move their facility across the country. The system was working when it was pulled in 2007. On Sunday, 2/17/2008 I performed my own preliminary tests and I have found out that the unit powers up completely. The APC100 module gives you a "Accusort Sys Ready..." LCD message. Also take a look at the LED picture I took. The status LED blinks green, and the Tach LED changes color when you hand spin the Photocraft Encoder/Tachometer. When you break the Valuscan light barrier, the LED on the light barrier changes from green to red and the Coplanar Illumination module fires up to take a picture of the product traveling under the camera system. You need a conveyor system to send a tachometer output to the unit. Also, You can see the Coplanar illumination module fire up in one of the pictures. I looked at the software, but I did not understand all of the configuration settings and could only get it to give me "NO READ" results from the software. It may be worthwhile to have an Accusort representative come to your facility to help you setup this system. This costs about $1000 per day. Please email me with any questions. I do not know if this unit fully works, and I have never seen one of these units working in an industrial application, but I will do my best to answer your questions. ************************************************************************************************ The Latest Camera Technology from Accu-Sort® We’ve got a better solution—The AV4000 CCD Bar Code Reader from Accu-Sort. It’s elegant and easy to use, yet powerful and reliable. It’s what your business needs and we know it’s what you want, because it has just what you asked for: Integrated Camera, Illumination, and Decoder. The AV4000 brings these three main elements together in one package. Installation is simple and quick because the camera and illumination are fi rmly and permanently aligned. The entire system can be installed in less than 20 minutes. All fi eld replaceable components, including the camera and illumination assembly, can be removed and replaced without realignment—decreasing downtime during maintenance and repair. LED Illumination. You asked us for an uncomplicated, effective, and ergonomic alternative to high-intensity sodium illumination. The Integrated coplanar LED illumination offers you all of that and more. Accu-Sort’s LED illumination ensures the same high read rate as sodium illumination without the CDRH safety concerns associated with laser illumination. And LED illumination does not suffer from illumination speckling, another major drawback of laser illumination which leads to poor image quality and reduced read rates. The low power consumption and longer useful life of LEDs ensures Digital Zoom Technology. The innovative use of new technology has always been a hallmark of Accu-Sort products. The AV4000 uses Accu-Sort’s new, patented Digital Zoom technology. Digital Zoom functions like a very smart zoom lens, without the complexity, reliability, and repeatability problems associated with a mechanical device. Digital Zoom helps to simplify the design of the AV4000, eliminating the need for multiple confi gurations and reducing maintenance and spare parts costs. The combination of reliability and performance ensures high read rates and minimal downtime. Powerful Image Processing. Accu-Sort’s in-camera dimensioning (VisionCube™), sideby- side detection (VisionDetect™), real-time image capture (VisionCapture™), and videoencoding (VisionKey™) are all supported in the AV4000. The design has combined the the highest performance at the right price. And, our worldwide service and support network is available to make sure that your system is in top shape for years to come. Innovation. You can always rely on the engineers at Accu-Sort to provide a better solution—solutions backed by a wealth of experience, applications knowledge and the largest install base of auto ID cameras in the world.
