The top layer, made of durable semi-conductive vinyl, has sufficiently low resistivity to discharge static-laden conductors, yet will prevent the shorting of pins on the backs of the printed circuit boards laid on the mat. Beneath the semi-conductive vinyl top is a highly conductive scrim that provides the main discharge path to ground. The bottom layer is non-conductive foam backing - a durable, non-skid cushion that also helps prevent the bypassing of the protective (conductive) layers. Available in five colors.
