These gadgets are used to pull corners of furniture or cabinetry together and keep them tight. Based on how strong and sturdy they are, they appear particularly useful for large heavy furniture and cabinets. The end parts look like a "diving bell" stainless steel ball about 9/16" in diameter with 6 holes drilled around its middle secured in a split ring.
