Tau-Tron S5104 DS1/DS1C/DS2 Digital Transmission Test Set with Manual The S5104 Digital Transmission Test Set is a comprehensive instrument that allows you to test the performance of digital transmission systems operating at DS1, DS1C, and DS2 levels. It is ideal for testing digital radio, Fiberoptic, satellite, and T-carrier systems including multiplexers, protection switches, and lines. The unit can transmit framed and unframed data patterns and perform error measurements at all three transmission rates. The S5104 is capable of transmitting test patterns at one rate while performing measurements at another rate. The S5104's ability to measure frame bit errors and bipolar violations allows you to monitor the performance of in-service systems. In addition to recognizing Alternate Mark Inversion in DS1 signals, the S5104 can encode/decode Bipolar with 8-Zero Substitution signals, making it an ideal instrument to develop and test DS1 equipment digned for 64-kb/s clear channel operation.
