The tip of the drill is 9/16" and it drills for a depth of about 3/4" then it steps up to 23/32" very similar to a countersink cutter. This type of drill can be used by most people as a standard drill bit with a built in pilot, but if you need a blind hole with a 23/32" diameter at the bottom this drill is not the drill for you.
