This item is in a sealed manufacturers box, acquired from an electrical commercial wholesale company that went out of business and we picked up many pallets of the goods that they had remaining in stock. Although this is brand new in the box, I can give you no guarantees on the battery, we did not even open the sealed box, but the unit is a few years old, so the battery may or may not function at this point, as the manufacturer recommends that it be charged prior to now, so we just can not tell you about the shape of the batteries functionability.
