NEW Kester Solder SN96204866 Kester Wire Solder, Sn96.5/Ag3.0/Cu0.5 Lead-Free Alloy, .020" Dia., #48 RA Flux, #66 Core Size, 1-lb. Roll, Kester P/N 24-7068-1401 Lead-free wire solder is comprised of 96.5% tin, 3.0% silver, and 0.5% copper (Sn96.5/Ag3.0/Cu0.5, also referred to as Kester SAC 305) with a melting temperature range of 423°F to 428°F. To promote rapid and complete wetting of the surfaces to be soldered with lead-free, a flux system with an effective activator package is essential. Kester lead-free wire solders have been tested and proved to give good contact angles and shiny joints. Kester's patented cored wire manufacturing process uses a unique high pressure, 90° extrusion process to virtually eliminate solder occlusions and flux voids. Modern wire manufacturing equipment has made Kester unsurpassed in the high volume manufacture of very fine diameter flux cored wire solder. All wire solders are packaged in 1-lb. spools. Note: There are three standard fluxes to choose from: * "48" was developed for lead-free applications to enable soldering of most common metals. It is a high activity RA core flux designed for "instant-action" wetting to provide fast and reliable solder joints. Although "48" is an RA-based material, the residues are non-corrosive if not cleaned. * "275" is a halide-free, rosin based, no-clean core flux that provides excellent wetting performance. Its extremely clear post-soldering residue eliminates the need and expense of cleaning. The unique chemistry in "275" helps reduce spattering common to most cored fluxes. * "331" is a high-activity, water soluble core flux for soldering difficult metals. It is more heat stable than most organic fluxes, resulting in minimal smoke and odor. Designed for optimal cleanability, the residue of "331" can be completely removed with a simple water rinse.
