Monochromator w/Diffraction Grating & PMT For sale- a very nice monochromator assembly pulled from an Instrumentation Laboratory 751 AA/AE Spectrophotometer. The AA spec had two of these onboard, I would assume one is excitation, the other emission? Anyway, they are basically identical except that the inlet slit (which is a rather odd shape, but I assume could be changed, please check out the pictures) and the PMT housing are on opposite sides at one end. The housing, both of which were marked D 28150 REV O, not sure if that is significant, has three leveling feet which can be used to mount it although I may have lost the matching screws. There is a manual adjustment for the grating as well as a motor that I guess would allow it to scan if you could figure out the wiring configuration. The mirrors and gratings on both of these look pretty good; on many of the older optical test pieces I part out they are foggy or otherwise aged. That does not appear to be the case here, so either the instrument was sparingly used or very well kept or both. The spectrophotometer itself was in pretty good condition other than it was missing a section that I think would have controlled the burner gas. Then I managed to crunch the keyboard with a Perkin Elmer 603 AA spec that was on the same pallet, so I decided to part it out. I still have, at least for the moment, most of the other parts and electronics. If you need something else let me know, only the bare steel carcass has been scrapped at this point.
