Considerable information (but no schematics) on Options 020, 021, 030, and 040 is also included. The included App Notes, "Understanding Frequency Counter Specifications", "Fundamentals of Signal Analysis", and "Fundamentals of Time Interval Measurements" are worth far more than the price of this set by itself. The first explains in depth all concepts relative to specifying frequency counters, including but not limited to: input characteristics (range, sensitivity, signal operating range, dynamic range, trigger level, damage level) and operating mode specifications (range, LSD displayed, resolution, accuracy, time interval avg. min. dead time) and has appendices on time interval averaging, RMS specifications, effects of wideband noise, measurement of counter contributed noise, and more. The second, while oriented primarily toward spectrum analysis, contains data and concepts applicable to and useful to all signal measurement procedures. The third A/N provides everything you need to know about making high resolution time interval measurements. The HP5328A is specifically mentioned (along with other counters) in the A/N. Two PDFs of each HP5328A manual are provided, in two resolutions. One is: Text with Drawings at 600dpi black and white or greyscale, depending on content Schematics at 600dpi or 800dpi black and white or greyscale, depending on content Text with photos at 600dpi grayscale with contrast adjusted Schematics, board overlays that have color notes (if any) at 600dpi or 800dpi, depending on content, 256 colors This resolution looks nice, but for many purposes uses excessive resources. You can copy the large file to the hard drive in an attempt to achieve maximum performance, but it's certainly of no benefit to you to be required to do that. Therefore, although it's great to have this resolution for those times you need higher definition (such as when printing), we include a second scan of each in more normal resolutions for daily research and use on the bench. The second scan is done in resolutions that vary depending on individual page content, but are never higher than needed to produce a useable quality, quickly navigable file that will do the job without consuming more time and resources than are needed. On the CDs you'll receive the large "very high resolution" files of each, plus the smaller, faster and often more useable text-searchable version. ALL original manual pages are supplied. Some vendors proudly advertise page counts and file sizes, but since those counts and sizes are very often artificially inflated with extraneous advertising and/or blank pages, we refrain from joining them and instead assure you that these manuals are complete and are scanned in the specified resolutions.
